A goodbye, and a thank you
After two years, Allways is closing.
I started Allways because I was tired of clothes that weren't made to last and weren't made for real bodies. So I made the classics. A few pieces, done properly. More sizes and lengths than most brands bother with, fabrics developed from scratch, fits tested on real women and not just fit models.
You told me it worked.
"This is the first time a shirt fit a big girl like me well. So glad for the larger sizes!"
— Pearl, The Classic Oxford Shirt
"The best pair of trousers I have. The fit is perfect, the fabric doesn't get knees after hours of wear, and the cut is perfect to even sit cross-legged and then look perfectly presentable when I stand."
— Gauri, The Everywhere Trousers
"Natural fabrics are the best. Refreshing in a sea of flimsy fast fashion that rips in three wears."
— Hope, The Reversible Waistcoat
"A white shirt that's not see through is a blessing."
— Resham, The Cropped Oxford Shirt
"Excellent shirt. Great fabric, great fit. Will recommend to everyone."
— Poulami, The Classic Oxford Shirt
"The fit is amazing. And stitching is perfect. All in all a classic."
— Anvita, The Classic Oxford Shirt
"I would love to see more colour options in this style, especially Navy Blue and Coffee Brown."
— Gargi, The Everywhere Trousers
"Looking forward to being a consistent patron. Thank you."
— Aditi, The Classic Oxford Shirt
I have read every review that ever came in. After the clothes themselves, they are the thing I am proudest of. And Gargi, I'm sorry the navy blue never happened.
So why close?
The honest answer is that the numbers never worked well enough. Making clothes this way costs more. Better fabric, many sizes and lengths, considered designs and not trends. I knew that going in, and I believed the math would improve as we grew. And in some ways it did. Nearly a third of you came back within three months of your first order, which is a number most brands only dream about. But that wasn't enough. Growing further would have meant burning money for longer than I was comfortable with.
There was a version of Allways that could have survived. Thinner fabric, fewer sizes, new drops every month chasing whatever was trending. That was never going to happen. It would have made Allways the very thing it was built as an answer to.
I still believe the classics deserve a podium. That was the story I wanted to tell. Maybe this wasn't the right time, or maybe I wasn't the right person to tell it. Either way, I'd rather say goodbye as a brand that cares about the classics than carry on as something else.
What happens now
The Final Sale is on until 31st July. Everything I have left, at goodbye prices. Nothing will be restocked. When your size is gone, it's gone.
Exchanges, not returns. Since this is a final sale, purchases can be exchanged for a different size but not returned. Exchanges are open for 15 days from delivery, subject to stock. Please check the size guides before ordering, and write to me if you're unsure. I'll help you get it right.
I'm not disappearing on 31st July. I'll be around for as long as it takes after that. Every order will be delivered, every exchange will be honoured, and if you need anything at all, hello@getallways.com reaches me.
Thank you
To everyone who bought a piece, wore it to work, sent us photos, told a friend, or left a review. Thank you. You proved that people care how clothes are made.
Take care of the pieces. They were built to last, and they will.
With love,
Yamini
